The victorian area fascination and belief in science makes mad scientists famous. Steampunk Fashion:When I have designed steampunk clothing, corsets and accessories for DraculaClothing.com I have thought a lot about what this historical setting would do to the fashion trends. I have made some different steampunk categories, that I try to stick to when I design. Steampunk Aristocrat:In the aristocracy, Rococo and Baroque never went out of fashion. Corsets, wide skirts with several layers of underskirts, wide sleeves and everything else that proves that they don’t have to work for a living is very fashionable. Brown in every shade and black are the most commonly used colors as even the aristocracy can’t escape the pollution, but some mix in red or purple, to show off. Cameos, theatre goggles, monocles and chokers with lots of lace are the most fashionable accessories.
Apocalyptic SteampunkLarge parts of the steampunk world have turned into an almost uninhabitable desert. To survive in the desert the clothing has to be tough and not cover up too much of the body. They prefer leather, thick cotton and other sturdy materials. Their mechanical accessories are often more practical in nature than the aristocrat accessories. Sextants, brass compasses, muskets, watches and intricate machinery are the accessories of choice. At night they will often dress up in corsets, tail coats or self made creative garments. Steampunk LolitaThe aristocratic families of the Victorian area values sexual restraint, so their daughters are excepted to wear decent clothing and there is a trend to make versions of clothing the children use to wear to funerals. This entry is a work in progress and is based a lot on my personal views on steampunk fashion. I like to make a credible story behind each picture I take. Steampunk SkirtNovember 19th, 2011We have started having clothing in stock, it sells very well and some models sell out after a few days. I guess it means we have to have a bigger stock of them, I hope our 130 sqm storage and photostudio is big enough;) We have had a lot of shoots with Ophelia lately, she looks good in everything we dress her up in and she is very easy to work with. This is a simple steampunk skirt that fits with almost any steampunk outfit. Everything in the picture is from DraculaClothing and I am very proud that we can offer whole steampunk outfits now.
