I think my new favorite is Alexander McQueen though. ![]() Alexander McQueen In the beginning I looked through goth pages for inspiration all the time, but I don’t see that much new there anymore. Please feel free to add links to things that contradicts me, I would love to see new ideas within the alternative community. I love the lines in this dress, it would look ten times better on a more curvy woman, but it gives me ideas and I love what he has done with the sleeves. ![]() Alexander McQueen He does a great job of looking like a vampire. I really don’t understand the white colour on his pants, but the rest is very classical and cool. Victorian GothMonday, December 28th, 2009We plan on presenting different alternative clothing styles. I don’t claim that everything is right and some may definitely disagree, but it is my view on the different styles at least. If you disagree please tell me in the comment field and I may edit the article if I agree with you. I’ll start with one of my personal favourites, the Victorian Goth. ![]() Victorian Goth Ida in a Victorian Goth outfit we will add to the shop in January or February. Victorian goth takes inspiration from Victorian fashion, lifestyle and literature. Women wore corsets, lace and extravagant dresses, men wore top hats, waistcoats and cummerbunds. Some Victorian goths pride themselves in historical accuracy, while others develop the style by emphasizing the corset for example. Bram Stokers Dracula is one of the great inspirations for many Victorian Goths and some will try to live as close to the high class Victorian lifestyle as possible by indulging in theater, opera, masquerades and so on. I had a lot of fun designing this, using different shapes to create the effect. The leather is a very soft and good quality.
